My delivery was 3/30/20 after about 30 hours of labor. Ella was referred to me by one of the Midwifes at Brooklyn Birthing Center. I reached out and it was an immediate connection even before meeting in person Ella was assisting me with every concern and questions I had. Also when she wasn’t sure she would say honestly I have to do research myself on that and she would and then she shared her source of information with me.
Ella is sweet, encouraging and without Ella’s instructions I would not have been able to push my baby. Ella literally instructed me how to push; she also came over for my time in labor which was about 30 hours. She helped me keep track of my contractions and reminded me of the things I wanted to enforce for my birth plan. I can’t thank or even pay Ella enough for what she did for me and my family.
Now I am already 4 weeks postpartum and Ella checks on me and my baby and has given me amazing tips for my own care and my baby’s care. Ella was beyond help for me and my family specially in this crazy time of pandemic that we are leaving.

This was my first time doula experience and I must say, it's been a great one. During this pandemic everything has been turned upside down and so confusing, yet Ella has been as supportive as things would allow. She provided me with so much information and guidance leading up to my birth.
Ella has even continued providing support well into my postpartum period. She's exactly the type of personality I needed-- level headed, informed, supportive, and encouraging.

Ella supported me for the birth of my baby girl. We were connected later in my pregnancy (38 weeks). But from our first meeting, Ella and I had a nice flow to our interaction. To start, she has a very warm and inviting face, that automatically makes you feel comfortable and her voice is very soothing. She was always an attentive listener and provided input that was helpful and supportive of our overall goals for the pregnancy and labor. I never felt like she was enforcing her opinions but more sharing her experiences based on my need.
Ella was always available to support me, via phone or in person. I had to be induced so I was transferred to the hospital and she was with me and my husband the entire 26hrs. She became family.
Even after giving birth and to date (5weeks postpartum), Ella still checks in on us and provides her ear if needed. My husband appreciated her being there as well.

Ella is a one of a kind person. From my first meeting with her (2 weeks before I was due), I picked up on her very calm and soothing personality. I knew that this was someone I wanted around me for my sons birth. I pictured my first birth to be in a calming and positive environment. Although my birth plan totally went out the window because of complications, Ella was right there with me throughout the entire birthing process that night, well into the next day. Although I’m sure she was tired she remained calm and comforting. She made me feel very comfortable. She is a very organized and detail-oriented doula. She even tried to stick to my birth plan as much as possible.
Even after having my healthy baby boy I was having troubles with breast feeding and latching in (which by the way fyi isn’t easy at all first for some moms). Ella went out of her way pouring rain rode her bicycle to my home to deliver nipple shields for me. I’m sooo grateful that she had done that for me because I would’ve given up on breastfeeding. Shows how committed she is to her clients.
Because of Ella I was able to have pictures of my sons first entrance into the world because I had an emergency c section and was put under. She was the only one there with me and she gave the nurse her phone to take pictures for me.
Ella truly caters to her clients needs, and she’s the sweetest person you’ll ever meet. She’s the one to share a wonderful experience like this with. I’m thankful that I chose her and she chose to work with me. I’ll be sure that when I’m telling my son the story of his birth he will know all about how his mommy had this amazing doula by her side.
