About me

The first 25 years of my life I’ve spent in The Netherlands, where also our first child was born (at home). After that our growing family lived in many different countries, including the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa, and in August 2019 we moved to Brooklyn, where I am meeting people from all those places again!

While living abroad I received a PhD in medical sciences, comparing the breastmilk composition of women from some of those countries with each other. Next to working in the medical field I started a few employment generating projects for underprivileged women by teaching them weaving and sewing and helping them to sell their products.

Apart from being a doula, I work part-time as a birth assistant. During summer holidays our family likes to go camping and rock climbing.
